Are you hearing the word Cortisol a lot? I hate to tell ya, but, this #buzz word gets circulated from time to time and same ol' companies with different names are selling the fact that #stress makes people fat. Promoters are online touting the magic of something or other, to lose #weight, a pill, drink or bar At the same time, they are telling everyone to ditch the cardio. I wouldn't just do what they say though.


I like that some people at least pair the whatever, with PILATES, which is the actual fat killer, not the gimmick they are selling, and I'll go into why in a bit. I'll also explain why Cardio is important for aging people.


These individuals are young, like their stomach hasn't dropped yet due to age, or like they haven't lived or trained enough years to experience atrophy, a breakdown of muscle tissue, stamina and endurance that one experiences over time, when they have rigorous training regimens. Daily #practice for maintenance is a must. Perfect, young, bodies always sell, and while homeboy and homegirl look good, that ain't gonna do a thing for me!


Many influencers were not born yet when Daniel and I were studying #physiology. A lot of these young, new stars, will have their expert- level time to shine, but it is not now. Popularity and a swole IG account does not equal #experience.

Am I hating on the young, hot team? No way! We all gotta make a living, and when I'm told that something for training works, I check it out, but it's no breakthrough and I end up turning to my regular routines.



Did you know, that without cortisol, we would be a pile of jelly? Some physical stress is required to lift, climb, swim, and play sports, even to build lean muscle.

It's the BREATHING that regulates the stress, heat, and tension. I'm not saying it's cool to be stressed, but it is one of our mechanisms and our bodies have a very special design.


As much as I want to blame my job, my kids, and my hubs for stressing me out, my physical & mental wellness is my responsibility.

What do I mean? Only you can make you happy so start inside!


Yes, stress induces the hormone, Cortisol, but it can also be released with toxic chemicals and fillers that are not meant for the body. Once your body gets a dose of WTH did you just eat, stress floods through your body and fat stores because we were never meant to have small traces of cyanide and other harmful, cancer-causing 'flavor additives' that are always in the food. These also have erratic side effects, cause addiction, which in turn, causes more stress.


How can it be bad if pleasure centers are triggered and the comfort is there, though? These chemicals are very harmful to your mind, body and even your mood. They are listed as flavorings, enhancers, fillers, gums, minerals, and my favorite To Preserve Freshness!

Online info and spokespeople for FDA claim SAFE! No. Anything that causes cancer is NOT safe, sorry. Anything that alters your mood is considered a drug. and we are packing this poison in our bodies on a daily basis, in small doses, because it is in just about everything we love to #eat!


Let's do Math for a sec. Though it's safe to ingest a small dose, how many doses a day are you getting?

Back of labels are changing everyday,

Example: I was a huge fan of Celcius, an energy drink that only had few ingredients & little preservatives. Not the case anymore. I had to dump Celcius because they snuck poisons in there.


I would take the extra time to read, even brands you think are #organic or natural. Just read about the side effects of food additives.


Giants count on US to perpetuate the cycle of damage by consuming more. Compound this with the stress of daily life, work, family and BOOM, you are headed for a melt-down fast.


To truly know how the body works, start with your own and don't be afraid to go there! It takes years of going inside your own body and feeling. Self-discovery is an awesome world! It means you're the navigator! Changing negative prefixes and assumptions with positivity and a thurst for knowledge, means being more open to trying new regimens and making notes about what you like and didn't like. Keep an open dialogue with yourself and your goals.

It also helps to evaluate your age and activities that will promote #longevity, and #health, not a blown-out knee cuz you went too hard after taking a 10 yr rest. At the same time, you gotta go a little hard to lose the weight and maintain especially if you're trying to 'get back' results. In other words, if you not putting in the effort, vigor and enthusiasm, your metabolism stays dormant and you won't see much results, If diet doesn't rotate with healthy foods, same thing, you get nothing, so people go fast and hard to hurry and end up hurt.


  • If your knees and back hurt, why are you squatting? And, uh, what's up with 5 plates on each side? -diet changes for gut reduction and mat workouts are a better solution. Once goal weight is hit, you can tackle that weight-rack again. 9 times out of 10, with clients I trained, their stomach going down was a factor in knees and back feeling better. That's where we started.

  • If you have heart problems, why you on the stairmaster? -lower impact as in walking on the treadmill with no incline and seated arm circles get the heart rate up just fine and breathing will regulate blood flow. Inversion with certain clients helps blood pooling and heart-rate regulation through breathing.

  • If your shoulder is ripped, why are you trying handstands? -Tai Chi is an amazing, underrated practice, designed to help maximize functionality. I trained a sweet lady who had a frozen shoulder and we did this practice! The goal was to put her sweater on by herself. Sometimes our triumphs seem small, but they must be celebrated and tracked!


Start with just the lists of your own #activities you enjoy and keep a food journal or track calories. I had trouble taking my book journal places, but my phone is awesome for setting timers, keeping track of my regimen in repetitions, and when I feel like I haven't done much, I go back in and reassure myself the work was done.


Why you need the cardio past a certain age (After 35)

  1. Cardio dumps toxins from the liver and excess water from your body.

  2. Cardio reduces blood pooling and promotes circulation especially if you stretch right after.

  3. Cardio can help shrink Fibroids in women and can breakdown fatstores in the organs

  4. Cardio regulates your #cardio pulmonary system. You heart IS a #muscle & Cardio is how it works out. See what level you are for your age and ability!

  5. Brain chemicals where you feel good naturally (runners high) are released with Cardio (it actually relieves stress when you do it)


Why PILATES is KING.

I won a Biggest Loser #competition at VQ, a Fitness club where I introduced my programs.


My client lost 114 lbs in 90 days. I baffled the other trainers because I was already hip to how Pilates burns twice as much fat as weights.

All my client did was Cardio and Mat work along with my tailored diet. This made him lighter and leaner, so we KILLED IT! Trainers were so MAD! Rules were made after my WIN and I love this cause it means that I broke their mold with my methods, so BOOM, BABY!!!! Science can't lie!


My Client came back 2 years later and showed me he still does everything and he makes choices that are good for both he and his family.

That's #fitness. Educating yourself on your own physiology is recommended. Don't wait for people to sell you. Highs and lows of watching fitness people do fitness things, IS a thing. You can get depressed pretty quick watching a perfect specimen, so I don't encourage the 'inspiration' as it may release more cortisol.


Davinci could see the angels he was carving while others just saw clay or marble.


See what's in you, first before going to un-healthy comparisons where there is no comparison. Clients who can't even straddle send me videos of super athletes who've trained since infancy. It's very hard to tell them, unless they find a time machine and start training as a baby, they won't have that level of skill. 'Guess what,' I tell them, 'I never did #gymnastics as a child.' I just wanted to learn. As long as you want to learn, you have everything and I mean that.


You may be thinking, yea, that can't happen. I don't have time!


Ok, how much time did you spend scrolling, gaming, or sharing memes? That time can be allotted to finding out more about yourself. It's only a few minutes of quiet time. Yep, I just call it out, cuz I'm guilty too!


I gained more insights with the years of training clients with every sort of ailment, I wasn't looking for sexy stars or polished athletes, but the ones who told me, we were both wasting our time. It was my mission to open a door of #wellness they could walk through, and then decide if they want to follow the path, either with or without me.  I do not lie to clients or give gimmicky crap #diets that make you gain as soon as you're off. Diets like these for too long can actually cause liver and kidney damage. Look up KETOSIS and how it affects your body.


Marketing that sells you that this product or system is the ONLY way is fibbing and it's time you knew about it! Lies do not lead to #health.


I eat what I like, and I do like Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian, Paleo, lo-carb, high-carb, and carnivorous meals-whoa, whoa, I said meals. I don't adhere to their lifestyles, regimens, views, or soapboxes. Feel free to explore their cookbooks, try some stuff and if you like it and it feels good to you, keep it in there!


My training regimens for my disciplines vary all the time for fine-tuning strength for my age, injuries, maintenance in agility and speed and body fat control. This is so I can go in like BOSS and Kill my #sports. I LOVE extreme sports, so I gotta train for them!
